The Timber Mountain Log Ride.

The Timber Mountain Log Ride opened on July 11, 1969, and remains one of the top attractions at Knott's Berry Farm into the 21st century, having carried more than 150 million guests.the ride's revolutionary "free-float" movement, developed by Bud Hurlbut in 1969. The concept has since been copied at theme and amusement parks worldwide. The free float movement enables the 450-pound logs to float freely down the 2,100-foot waterway, recreating the loggers' practice of riding their logs back to camp after a hard-day's worth of work.Seen in this video will be John Wayne with Mr and Mrs. Knott.

More of oustside the O.C. Marineland of the Pacific.

Today, that spirit of innovation is alive and well at Marineland. You can find it in products as diverse as the Magnum® canister filter and the Stealth™ Shatterproof Heater. So whatever your passion — fresh or saltwater, big or small — count on Marineland to bring you the most reliable, the most technically advanced, the highest quality aquariums and accessories on the market.

By 1970, Marineland of the Pacific was ready to bring its knowledge of aquarium science and marine biology to consumers. It partnered with Sherman’s company, now incorporated as Aquaria, Inc., to develop and market a line of filters, bubble wands and backgrounds that would be known as Marineland Aquarium Products.

Marineland of the Pacific, an oceanarium had been operating in Palos Verdes, California, since 1954. Marineland of the Pacific was the true pioneer of the oceanarium industry, and, as the largest marine park of its day, brought a vast menagerie of deep sea fish and animals before an eager public. Whales, dolphins, porpoises, seals and sea lions entertained amazed audiences, while strange sea creatures from far-away oceans inspired awe and wonder.

Out Side the O.C Marineland of the Pacific.

Whales, dolphins, porpoises, seals and sea lions entertained amazed audiences, while strange sea creatures from far-away oceans inspired awe and wonder.

Marineland’s history is a story of innovation with two unique beginnings. The first opens with Robert Sherman, a Cleveland entrepreneur and businessman who manufactured high-end lobster tanks for restaurants and grocery stores. Sherman’s aquatic tanks included innovative filter technology and other features that made his tanks superior to competitive models. Sales climbed, the business grew and soon Sherman was looking to the west. He purchased Aquarium Stock Company, a Los Angeles retailer, in 1968.

Japanese Village and Deer Park.

The deer park had many pools throughout its gardens.

More than 200 tame deer gaze in sloe-eyed wonderment and nuzzle your hand for a cracker. In their native land the little animals are considered to be Messengers of the gods .Nobody disputes their being ambassadors of goodwill.

Japanese Village was considered the largest Japanese cultural and recreational center in the Western Hemisphere. The design of Japanese Village and Deer Park was originally inspired by a deer park that was located in Nara Japan. Japanese Village and Deer Park was the first and only deer park in America.

Allen Parkinson cross-promoted both of his attractions. On the front side he promoted his Japanese Village and Deer Park, and on the reverse side it was Movieland Wax Museum.
